About Myself
My name is Eric Mercado, and I'm an amateur graphic designer born and raised in New York. I've had an interest in the digital arts since I was a young boy who'd mess about inside suites such as Photoshop, Illustrator and even the likes of Microsoft Paint. What was once a curious fascination became a full blown creative outlet in my teens to early adulthood as I'd sharpen my skills in College to become the respected artist I am among my peers.A bulk of my work has been for close associates, my own personal projects and the very occasional outside commission. So I'd hesitate to call myself a major professional. It's quite difficult to find work when most don't understand good quality design. But even if I don't have the best tool set, the knowledge, the experience or even the exposure, I still have the drive and enthusiasm to impress those who have a keen eye for good graphic design. So if you have a project that needs a nice looking logo or some other type of on-screen graphic, don't hesitate to drop me a line!Contact me at [email protected]. Let's see if I can't make something nice looking for you!On a more personal note: I spend my free time enjoying video games, music, designing fictitious brands and products for the original story concepts I'm writing, streaming on Twitch with my friends, watching new and old professional wrestling, and more recently, baseball. As far as education credits go, I graduated from Westchester Community College in 2016 as part of the Digital Filmmaking course (2012-2016) and I'd spend the following few years at SUNY Purchase where I continued my digital artistry in the New Media elective (2016-2019, couldn't graduate due to then rising concerns about Covid-19 around Winter break of Fall 2019 and rising familial complications forcing my leave). My main tools of the trade are the Affinity suite of products (Designer, Photo) and HitFilms video editor. I also have past experience with Adobe, namely Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Media Encoder.
